Renowned personality Shikshan Maharshee Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil has thought and started education for needy and poor people in Satara District. By following the footsteps of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, Prof. Madan S. Jagtap started Gourishankar education Society on 27^th May 1993, by keeping in views future demands of society and industry to face challenges of science and technology. Prof M.S.Jagtap has revolutionized the education of Satara District by establishing Gourishankar Education Society with the mission of providing highest quality education to all. He knows that India is rich in infellect, but only thing needed is the right guidance, to the youths. Gourishankar Knowledge city has taken that responsibility to guide them towards right direction.

In short time span, Gourishankar Knowledge City has taken its name to new heights by aspiring basic to advanced education to the students. Currently near about 9,000 students are pursuing education for their bright future.

All colleges of Gourishankar Knowledge City are equipped with state of the art infrastructure, well qualified teaching staff, transportation and hostel facilities.

Gourishankar Knowledge city is always bonded for channeling intellect and to nurture self confidence of students from rural area. With the goal of all round development of the students, society has started various courses from K.G. to P.G. at Limb campus in 30 acres land owned by society with a good infrastructure. Our beloved Chairman Prof. M.S. Jagtap Sir has been awarded with various National and International awards for his outstanding achievements in a field of education.

Very shortly Gourishankar Knowledge City has planned to establish college of Architecture, Dental College, Medical College and International residency school.
