Renowned educationist Shikshan Maharshi Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil initiated a movement to provide education to the needy and underprivileged in Satara District. Following in his footsteps, Prof. Madan S. Jagtap founded the Gourishankar Education Society on 27th May 1993, with a vision to meet the future demands of society and industry in the fields of science and technology.

Prof. Jagtap has revolutionized education in Satara District with the mission of delivering the highest quality education to all. He firmly believes that India has abundant intellectual potential and that the youth need the right guidance to unlock their abilities. Gourishankar Knowledge City has taken on the responsibility of guiding students in the right direction.

In a short span, Gourishankar Knowledge City has earned a reputation for providing education that spans from basic to advanced levels. Currently, approximately 9,000 students are pursuing their education here to secure a bright future.

All the institutions within Gourishankar Knowledge City are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, highly qualified teaching staff, and facilities like transportation and hostels. The institution is committed to nurturing the intellect and self-confidence of students, especially from rural areas. With the goal of holistic development, the society offers a range of programs from Kindergarten to Postgraduate levels, all situated on a 30-acre campus with excellent infrastructure.

Our esteemed Chairman, Prof. M.S. Jagtap, has been honored with various national and international awards for his remarkable contributions to education. Looking ahead, Gourishankar Knowledge City is set to expand with the establishment of a College of Architecture, Dental College, Medical College, and an International Residency School.
